Soap Deck – Poplar

Description

This is for one poplar wood soap deck. It has been treated with beeswax and mineral oil to help repel water.

One of the major differences between commercially produced soap and handmade soap is that commercial soap has  synthetic hardeners added in. Handmade soapers use select ingredients, time, and evaporation to harden the bar.  This can make it more susceptible to turning back into goo if it sets in water, such as on the side of your bathtub or sink.

Soap lasts longer if it can dry completely between uses. This soap deck allows water to drain away and the soap to dry, prolonging the life of your soap. It may seem odd that a person selling soap wants your soap to last as long as possible, but I do.
