Who says garter stitch can’t be a challenge? This design incorporates increasing and decreasing to keep things interesting around every turn.
The sample was made from seven skeins of Koigu KPPPM, but it can be made from any fingering weight yarn. You will need approximately 1200 yards.
Needle size: 11 US
Finished measurements: 21″ from neck edge to cast on before blocking. Depending on yarn used, it can block to impressive measurements!
Skills needed:
CO – cast on
BO – bind off
K – knit
sl – slip stitch
SSK – slip, slip, knit
K2tog – knit two sts together
M1R – pick up yarn in between sts from front to back and place on left needle and knit, twisting st
M1L – pick up yarn in between sts from back to front and place on left needle and knit through the back loop, twisting st
corner inc – M1R, K1, sl marker, K1, M1L
corner dec – SSK, K1, slip marker, K1, K2tog
